Our Volunteers

Volunteers are the heart of the Simpson County Literacy Program.  They contribute their skills by:

  • Providing one-on-one instruction
  • Instructing small classes
  • Serving as Board Members
  • Assisting with office tasks
  • Working on special projects

Volunteers worked a total of 748 hours in 2001.  Without them, staff would have been required to work an additional 100 days to get the same amount of work done!

How can I become a volunteer?  Contact us!  Please complete this brief form and  e-mail it or snail mail it back to us.  Required orientation and training is provided for all volunteer instructors.  Training is arranged on an as-needed basis to accommodate your schedule.

Everyone can be great, because everyone can serve.
